Such a shame that the weather impacted on the Bacon variety Avocado this season. Our local North West Tasmanian grower was of course very disappointed, but there is no control over the big wet we experienced last winter/spring and the fruit was very slow to mature. The cool climate and slow growing Tassie avocado produces a much nicer creamier flavour to this fruit and if you are lucky enough to buy or grow your own locally, then you are rewarded with a very different taste to that of mainland avocados.
