state is definitely well known for it’s berries and cherries in the summer, but
now we have a new super berry growing well in Tasmania – the Cape
Gooseberry. The Chinese lantern-like
berry is cousins to the tomato, some saying they have a pineapple-like flavour. Their reputation as a super berry for their
health boosting properties comes from their high concentration of protein and
vitamins C, A and B12. They grow easy
and can be cooked or eaten raw.
