How proud must Tassie olive growers be! This small State won 25% of the country’s prestigious Australian Olive Association Awards, and this was just Gold, the State also collected 4 Silver and 9 Bronze. Tony and Carol O’Neill from Cradle Coast Olives who we visit on our North West food and wine tour picked up a Gold Silver and Bronze this year. Their gold medal was won from a blend of 3 varieties.  They press their own oil at their Abbotsham property and process for many other olive growers. There is definitely something wonderful to be said for the taste of cool climate olive oil and the proof is in the awards.
