Whilst KI is not on my Tasmanian Food and Wine Tours, I have just spent a weekend over there and had to give it a little plug. Officially it is one of the islands in the State of Tasmania, but it is very individual and the locals refer to themselves as King Islanders, not Tasmanians. A trip to the dairy had me leaving with a huge bag full of bries, blues and cloth cheddar. I highly recommend Tasmanian visitors to make the excursion across to the island for a look.
