I should not be counting down so enthusiastically, but to be honest I have been thinking about truffles for weeks and this week I am making my first purchase of this wonderful ingredient.  There is only a small window each winter when we can visit the farm that grows this amazing produce on one of our food and wine tours.  Of course you can always pop into Deloraine Deli for truffled scrambled eggs or bangers and truffled mash if you want to sample this very unique food.
